EU : Offre d'emploi - 24-02-2008

Light for the World, qui dirige le projet de l'UE "Intégration transversale du handicap dans la coopération au développement" cherche des évaluateurs externes. Pays-Bas : Conférence Internationale DCDD - Le Sport et le Handicap dans la Coopération au Développement - 14-12-2007

Le sport est un outil formidable pour atteindre des objectifs au sein de la coopération au développement. En particulier pour les personnes handicapées, le sport est une façon de parvenir à l'inclusion, à l'émancipation et à la compréhension. Germany: National training on 'Inclusive Development' - 03-07-2007

Conférence régionale : Objectifs du millénaire pour le développement : Inclusion des personnes handicapées - 30-05-2007

Environ 80 participants se sont réunis à Senec (Slovaquie), petite ville près de Bratislava. Venus d'au moins 23 pays, en majorité européens, ils représentaient des OPH (Organisations de Personnes Handicapées), des ONG du développement, la Banque Mondiale, et le PNUD (Programme des Nations Unies pour le Développement). Des intervenants du Kenya, d'Ouganda, de Tanzanie et d'Afrique du Sud avaient été invités [...].


Italy : Seminar 'Empowerment of persons with disabilities and their organizations' - 02-05-2007

On March 27th, AIFO and DPI Italia held the second seminar titled 'Empowerment of persons with disabilities and their organizations'. Like in the previous occasion, collaboration has been extended to Universities, pursuing the aim of training and sensitization of future development cooperation officials.
The training has been put in place together with the Interdepartmental Centre on Human Rights and the Rights of People, University of Padua, and gathered a high level panel of [...].


Netherlands : 1 day Training Seminar 'Worldwide Implications of the Human Rights Convention for Disabled Persons' - 18-02-2007

The training semniar was organised by DCDD (Dutch Coalition on Disability and debvelopment) and VGPN (VGPN is a cooperation of four major Dutch DPO's ) The training semniar was held on 7 december 2006, in the Hague, the Netherlands. The seminar led to a interesting and interactive discussion among participants, coming from the North as well as the South, Dutch and international NGO's and DPO's , the World Bank and several Sutch Ministries and political parties.

Italy : Development Cooperation in Emergency situations and Universal Design: an opportunity to talk about disability - 18-02-2007

On November 24 a group of experts gathered to discuss practices of inclusion of Human Rights of persons with disabilities in development cooperation activities, particularly those linked to emergency situations and Universal Design, together with students of the Master course in Cooperation and Project Planning for development organized by CIRPS (Inter-Universitary Research Centre for Sustainable Development - University 'La Sapienza' of Rome), DPOs, NGOs and Institutions.

France : 2 days of national trainings on disability in development cooperation - 11-12-2006

Organised by Handicap International and the Groupement Français des Personnes Handicapées, training sessions were held in Paris on december 11th and 12th, leading to highly interesting and interactive discussions among participants from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NGOs, DPOs and universities.

These two days allowed to present disability mainstreaming in development cooperation, and the conclusions of the mapping of actual policies and practices on this issue. This [...].


Germany : Making PRSP Inclusive - Regional Workshop in Germany - 07-12-2006

On December 7th an 8th 2006, a regional training workshop will be organized by CBM-Germany and gtz (German Development Ministry) in Berlin, which aims to strengthen the importance of inclusion of disability in PRSP (Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper). The workshop will be held at the gtz house. Gtz is together with Handicap International and CBM, engaged in a partnership to promote disability inclusion in PRSP in several developing countries using, as the basis, the World Bank Handbook [...].

Italy : National training seminar on disability and development cooperation : emergencies and universal design - 24-11-2006

Austria : Light for the World Press Breakfast to launch the pilot project - 11-09-2006

Light for the World held a Press Breakfast for the Austrian media in Vienna on 2 March in order to the pilot project and to raise awareness of the situation of disabled persons in developing countries.

Rupert Roniger, Director of Light for the World, was joined on the platform by Petra Bayr, Member of Parliament and Chairwoman of the Development policy Sub-Committee who gave the support of the Austrian Parliamentary Committee and called for action by the Austrian Government to [...].


Belgium : Disability & Development Project supports training workshop on HIV/AIDS and Disability, 5 May 2006 - Brussels - 11-09-2006

The Belgian Foreign Affairs Ministry hosted a training workshop (5 May 2006) which brought together disability organizations, development NGOs, academics and officials to consider the way forward on addressing HIV/AIDS and disability in development work.

This was the first training event to be supported by the pilot project on mainstreaming disability and development cooperation 'Breaking the cycle of poverty and disability in Development Cooperation'.
